Half-day workshop (3-4 hours)

Workshop Agenda:

1. 1.Introduction to STEM (30 minutes):

   • Welcome and icebreaker activity to get to know each other.
   • Brief overview of what STEM encompasses and its importance in everyday life.

2. 2.Science Corner (45 minutes):

   • Experiment: "Fizzing Colors"
     • Materials: Baking soda, vinegar, food coloring, small containers.
     • Activity: Children will mix baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring to create colorful fizzy reactions, exploring chemical reactions and color mixing.

3. 3.Technology Time (45 minutes):

   • Coding Challenge: "Coding with Blockly"
     • Materials: Tablets or laptops with Blockly coding platform.
     • Activity: Children will be introduced to basic coding concepts through a fun and interactive Blockly coding game, solving puzzles and challenges to move characters through mazes.

4. 4.Engineering Exploration (60 minutes):

   • Building Challenge: "Marshmallow Structures"
     • Materials: Marshmallows, toothpicks, and small candies (optional).
     • Activity: Children will work in pairs or small groups to design and build structures using marshmallows and toothpicks, experimenting with stability, balance, and geometric shapes.

5. 5.Mathematics Magic (45 minutes):

   • Puzzle-solving: "Mathematical Mysteries"
     • Materials: Math puzzles, tangrams, or pattern blocks.
     • Activity: Children will engage in hands-on math puzzles and games, solving mathematical mysteries, and exploring concepts such as patterns, shapes, and problem-solving strategies.

6. 6.Wrap-Up and Reflection (15 minutes):

   • Group discussion: What was your favorite activity and why?
   • Reflection on what they learned and how they can continue exploring STEM at home.
